Travel Mode
Stat Temp offers a "Travel Mode" feature tailored for customers requiring mobile temperature monitoring. Travel mode is currently only offered on gen 2 devices.
Here are its key functionalities:
- Data Storage: Rather than real-time data transmission, the device stores temperature readings locally at 15-minute intervals, enabling continuous monitoring even without a network connection.
- Display and LED Feedback: While in Travel Mode, the device provides a simplified display featuring the latest temperature reading and the corresponding date and time in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Notably, server and Wi-Fi icons are not displayed in this mode. Instead, the device's LED indicator fades between green and purple, indicating its specialized mode and lack of network connectivity.
- Data Upload: Upon exiting Travel Mode, the device automatically reconnects to the network and uploads all stored temperature readings, ensuring no data loss during the Travel Mode period.
Activating Travel Mode:
- Enter menu mode by simultaneously pressing the black and white buttons. The LED will turn from green to purple.
- Navigate to "Travel Mode" using the white button and confirm the selection with the black button.
- Upon selection, the display will show the current temperature, and the LED will fade between purple and green.
- Network and cloud icons will disappear.
- Time will be presented in UTC format.
- The monitor will record readings from the attached sensor(s) at 15-minute intervals.
Time Zone | UTC Time |
---|---|
Eastern | -4:00 hours |
Central | -5:00 hours |
Mountain | -6:00 hours |
Pacific | -7:00 hours |
Deactivating Travel Mode:
- The recommended method to exit Travel Mode is through a pin reset. For this, insert a paperclip or SIM card tool into the top pinhole located on the right side of the Stat Temp monitor. Push and release.
- Alternatively, access the menu mode by pressing the black and white buttons simultaneously. Navigate to "Travel Mode" using the white button and deselect it with the black button.
- The monitor will reset and reconnect to the network. The LED will begin to breathe green.
- Once reconnected, the monitor will begin uploading all readings recorded during Travel Mode.
Important note: It does not monitor for environmental policies, but you can view the temperature data when the monitor reconnects to Wi-Fi and is uploaded.
