Events

Here are some quick links about Events

What is an Event?

An Event is created when an assigned notification is triggered. Events may have varying requirements; some require acknowledgment and resolution, while others only require acknowledgment. They are loggable, reportable, and snoozable.

Triggers for creating Events include critical excursions, missed check-ins, running on battery, low network quality, and more.

If the Events notification is set to repeat, you will need to acknowledge the Event or allow it to clear on its own before the notification will stop triggering.

I've received a notification, now what?

If you've received a notification, an event has likely been created that requires your attention. Click the link in your notification to view the event details and take any necessary actions.

If you received a phone call but do not have a clickable link, log in to the Stat Temp website and navigate to the Events page to locate and review the event.

Acknowledge

Acknowledging an event in Stat Temp means taking responsibility for it. Once acknowledged, all future notifications related to that event will stop. To acknowledge an event, click the link in your notification, which will direct you to the Event page. There, you can review the event details and acknowledge the notification.

Auto-Acknowledge

If auto-acknowledge is enabled, the notification will include an auto-acknowledge link. Clicking this link will take you directly to the Event page while automatically acknowledging the event—eliminating the need for manual confirmation. This ensures that notifications stop immediately while still allowing you to review the event details if needed.

Snooze

If snooze is enabled, the event will temporarily stop sending notifications for a set period. However, if the event remains open when the snooze period ends, the notification process will restart, retriggering alerts until the event is resolved.

Resolve

If Resolve is enabled, the event will require a resolution before it can be closed. An event cannot be resolved until it has been acknowledged. When resolving the event, you will need to select a resolution from the available options. Some resolutions may require additional notes, which can be entered during the resolution process. This ensures that all necessary information is recorded before the event is fully closed.

Add Notes

Notes can be added to an event at any time and as frequently as needed. This allows users to document updates, troubleshooting steps, or any other relevant details throughout the event's lifecycle. All notes are tracked in the activity log, ensuring a clear record of actions taken and information shared.

Event Page

The Event Page provides a detailed overview of a specific event. On the right side, you'll find key event details, including the device information, event type, notification history, and available actions such as Acknowledge and Add Notes.

If the event was triggered by a critical excursion, a temperature or humidity graph will be displayed, offering a visual representation of the readings at the time of the event.

Below, the Activity Log tracks all actions related to the event, including when notifications were sent and any updates made.

Additionally, users can add notes directly to the event for better tracking and context, ensuring a complete history of the incident is maintained.

Edit Event Details

Event details, such as link type, snooze settings, and required actions, cannot be edited directly within an event. Instead, these settings are controlled by the notification that created the event. To make changes, you must identify the notification responsible for triggering the event and edit its configuration. Once updated, all new events generated by that notification will reflect the changes automatically.

Identify the Notification that triggered the Event

  1. Click Events at the top of the Stat Temp website.
  2. Select the event from the Events Data Grid to open the Event Page.

On the right side, locate and take note of the Notification Name listed—this is the notification that created the event.

Edit the Notification

  1. Click the gear shift icon at the top right of the Stat Temp website. Then click Notifications.
  2. Locate the notification you want to modify and click on it to open the edit panel.
  3. Adjust the necessary settings, such as link type, snooze duration, or required actions.
  4. Once all changes are made, click Save at the bottom right to apply them.
