---|---|---|---|---|---|
Excursion Event | Sensor | 30 minutes | Yes | Yes | Until cleared |
Missed Check-in Event | Sensor | 30 minutes | Yes | Yes | Until cleared |
Monitor Event | Monitor | 5 minutes | Yes | Yes | Max 3 repeats |
Monitor Message Notification | Monitor | 5 minutes | No | N/A | N/A |
How to Set Up and Assign Notifications
Step 1: Access Notifications
- Navigate to Notifications: Click the gear shift icon at the top of the Stat Temp website, then click Notifications.
- The Notifications Data Grid displays key information like notification names, whether they are enabled, and if they create events or require acknowledgment/resolution.
Step 2: Assign Notifications to Sensors or Monitors
- Go to the Sensor or Monitor Data Grid by clicking Sensors or Monitors at the top of the website.
- Select the sensor/monitor you want to configure. You can multi-select for bulk edits.
- A blue bar will appear—click Edit Selected.
- In the side panel, go to the Notifications section and assign the appropriate notifications (e.g., Warning, Critical, Missed Check-in).
- Click Save to apply changes.
Creating or Editing a Notification
Step 1: Create or Edit a Notification
- In the Notifications Data Grid, click Create a Notification (top right) or Edit an existing one using the three-dot menu (⋮).
Step 2: Configure Notification Details
- Choose Device Type: Select Sensor or Monitor. (Can't edit device type)
- Name the Notification: Assign a unique name.
- Set Notification Delay: Define the delay before the system sends the notification (e.g., 30 minutes).
- Event Creation: Choose whether the notification should generate an event. Events are logged and can be tracked on the Events page. Events are also actionable.
- Acknowledge and Resolution: Decide if acknowledgment or resolution is required.
- Auto-Close: Optionally enable auto-close when the issue is resolved.
- Acknowledge Link: choose the link type sent with text message and email notifications.
- Snooze: Set a snooze duration (1–24 hours) if needed.
- Repeat Event: Configure if and how often the notification should repeat.
Scheduling Notifications
To control when notifications are sent, you can schedule alerts for specific days and times:
Step 1: Set Notification Schedule
- Check "Yes" if the notification requires a schedule (e.g., weekdays only, different times on weekends).
- Create Schedule: Define specific days and times for the notification to be active.
- Once done, click Hide Schedule to close the scheduling view.
Step 2: Handling Unschedule Time Slots
- If any time slots are left unscheduled, the system will prompt you to create a new group for those times.
- For the unscheduled periods, set up a new group, assign users or contacts, and configure the notification timing.
Set Up Notification Chain
You can set up multi-step notification chains to manage alert escalation:
- Add Recipients: Assign users, contacts, or groups to receive notifications via email, SMS, or phone call.
- Escalation Steps: Add additional steps for escalations by clicking + Add Step, and define the time delay between steps.
- Repeat Alert: If toggled on, choose how much time passes before notification restarts.
Customize Notification Messages
- Use Tokens to insert real-time data into the message (e.g., Event Name, Device Name, Current Temperature).
- Customize the Email Body and Text/Call Body to include specific event details.
- Optionally, include an attachment with additional data or reports with email notifications.
Quick Actions with Notifications
- Edit: Modify notification details such as name, delay, event settings, and recipients.
- Clone: Duplicate an existing notification for similar devices or groups.
- Delete: Remove a notification (note: notifications assigned to active sensors/monitors cannot be deleted).
Tips for Managing Notifications
- Custom Notifications: If different users need notifications for specific sensors, clone or create custom notifications.
- Event Logging: Notifications that do not create events won’t appear on the Events page, so consider event creation for logging purposes.
This updated guide includes scheduling notifications and ensures users have clear instructions for setting up alerts, customizing message content, and managing escalations.
