This guide will walk you through resetting your WiFi connection on your legacy Stat Temp monitors.
Getting Started:
- Plug the monitor in and power it on by sliding the switch into the up or on position.
- Put the monitor into listening mode.
- Insert a paperclip into the bottom pinhole on the left side (above the LED) and hold. The LED will turn royal blue. Continue to hold the paperclip in the bottom pinhole.
- release the paper clip when the light starts to rapidly flash royal blue (about 8 seconds).
Particle Application Method (iOS only):
If you do not have access to an iPhone, do not use an Android, it will not work. You will need to use the advanced configuration method or contact customer support at StatTemp@gohcl.com
- Open the App Store on your iOS device and download the Particle IoT application. The icon for the app is dark blue with an 8-point white star.
- Once downloaded, open the Particle IoT application.
- During this process, it may ask to grant permission to use your location and to access other devices on your network. Select yes for all permissions.
- Click 'GET STARTED'
- Click 'Skip Authentication'
- Click 'Yes'
- Click the + sign on the top right.
- Click 'Photon'.
- Go to the iOS device Wi-Fi settings and connect to the available Photon-XXXXXX network.
- Once connected, return to the Particle IoT application and click 'Ready'.
- Select the network you are connecting to and enter your password.
- If you are connecting to a hidden network:
- when prompted to select your Wi-Fi network, click the option at the bottom that says 'My network is not listed'.
- Type in the network name. Network names are case-sensitive, so be careful to type it in exactly as it appears.
- Type in the password
- Click 'Connect'.
Your device will restart. The LED will fast blink green, then fast blink light blue, then slow blink light blue. That means your device is connected to Wi-Fi. It may also update if an update is available. The LED will blink magenta if it needs to be updated.
