How are Groups used?
Groups enhance monitoring by organizing data visibility, filtering dashboard views, and managing notifications. For instance, users assigned to specific groups can only see the sensors related to that group.
Groups are used throughout Stat Temp, including:
- Dashboards and Data Grids: Filtering data by groups for focused views.
- Notifications: Assigning notifications to entire groups.
- Reports: Generating reports for specific groups.
- Sensor management: Assigning sensors to groups to control visibility and permissions.
Who can "View All"?
Users with the "View All" permission can access all sensors, monitors, events, and groups, overriding standard group-based restrictions. This permission is assigned to the 'Administrator' role by default.
To restrict views by Groups, it is recommended that users are assigned the 'Power User', 'User', or 'View Only' roles; or you can create custom roles.
Any users not assigned to a Group will be able to see all sensors, however, they will not be able to filter by the available Groups.
Users in Groups will not see any unassigned sensors.
How to filter by Groups
