Getting Started with Events
What is an Event?
An Event is a system-triggered response to a specific condition detected by a sensor or monitor. Most events are tied to a notification, which defines how the event behaves, such as whether it requires acknowledgment, resolution, or both.
Events are:
- Loggable: They appear in your Events page with a full history.
- Reportable: They can be included in exported reports.
- Snoozable: Users can temporarily silence them when enabled.
What Triggers an Event?
Events are created in response to various conditions, including:
- Critical temperature or humidity excursions
- Missed check-ins
- Running on battery
- Low network signal quality
- And more, based on your assigned notification types
Event Behavior
If a notification is set to repeat, the event will continue to trigger alerts until it is either:
- Acknowledged by a user
- Or automatically cleared when the condition resolves
What to do after receiving a Notification
If you've received a notification, it likely means an event has been triggered that requires your attention. Click the link in the notification to open the Event page, where you can view the details and take any necessary actions.
If Auto-Acknowledge is enabled, clicking the link will also acknowledge the event, stopping further notifications.
If Snooze is enabled, acknowledging the event will also automatically snooze it. This means you won’t receive additional alerts for the event until the snooze period ends—and only if the condition is still active.
If you receive a phone call notification, you’ll need to log into the Stat Temp web portal to acknowledge the event. Phone calls are informational only and do not support acknowledgment via phone input.
Acknowledge
Acknowledging an event in Stat Temp means taking responsibility for it. Once acknowledged, all future notifications related to that event will stop. To acknowledge an event, click the link in your notification, which will direct you to the Event page. There, you can review the event details and acknowledge the notification.
Auto-Acknowledge
If auto-acknowledge is enabled, the notification will include an auto-acknowledge link. Clicking this link will take you directly to the Event page while automatically acknowledging the event—eliminating the need for manual confirmation. This ensures that notifications stop immediately while still allowing you to review the event details if needed.
Snooze
If snooze is enabled, the event will temporarily stop sending notifications for a set period. However, if the event remains open when the snooze period ends, the notification process will restart, retriggering alerts until the event is resolved.
The snooze is tracked in the Event log for each event.
Resolve
If Resolve is enabled, the event will require a resolution before it can be closed. An event cannot be resolved until it has been acknowledged. When resolving the event, you will need to select a resolution from the available options. Some resolutions may require additional notes, which can be entered during the resolution process. This ensures that all necessary information is recorded before the event is fully closed.
Add Notes
Notes can be added to an event at any time and as frequently as needed. This allows users to document updates, troubleshooting steps, or any other relevant details throughout the event's lifecycle. All notes are tracked in the activity log, ensuring a clear record of actions taken and information shared.
