Creating a Formulary Item
1. On your Stat Stock website, click the Inventory tab on the top.
2. Click on Formulary Items
3. Click on Create Formulary Item
4. Type the name of the drug or supply.
5. Choose whether this is a drug or a supply.
6. Toggle 'Is this a tagged item?' on if the item you are creating will have an RFID tag applied.
7. Toggle 'Require pharmacist approval' on if you want a pharmacist to check to ensure the information entered for the tagged item is correct.
8. Toggle the settings for the item you are creating. In this example, all three options below will be toggled on.
9. When you turn on 'Expiration date controlled', you are given some additional options.
10. The first one, 'Expiring Soon For Restock (in days)'
This setting will force users to replace any items matching this formulary item and expire within ___ days during the restocking process. This helps ensure the formulary will not be expiring too soon after a kit is restocked.
11. The second, 'Expiring Soon For Adding (in days)', stops users from adding tagged items matching this formulary item if it's within ___ days.
This helps ensure the medication going into stat stock has a long shelf life to reduce the number of expirations.
11a. Allow kit to be complete if expiring soon
Turn this on to override the expiring soon for restocks. This will send a warning to the user about the expiring medication, but still allow the restock process to complete.
12. The next step is adding the UPC, so you can scan the drug and it will find it. But you can also add many other identifiers.
13. In the drop-down, select the type of identifier you are adding.
14. Then scan the UPC of your drug or supply.
15. To add additional identifiers, click 'Add Identifier'.
16. When you have entered all the information for the new formulary item, click 'Save'.
Additional settings in creating or editing your formulary items include
Beyond Use Controlled
This is designed for refrigerated drugs which become short-dated when taking the medication out of the refrigerator. If marking an item as beyond use controlled you will still add the manufacturer expiration date to the tagged items and place in the fridge. The first time the medication is pulled out and scanned into a kit, Stat Stock will automatically change the expiration to the desired short date.l
Billing and Supply Chain:
This is designed to help track billing costs for those formulary items. These features can be utilized in the reports section of Stat Stock
