⚠️ NIOSH, Custom Alerts & More

NIOSH Hazardous Drug Alerts

Quick Guide Reference - Turning on NIOSH Alerts

When you interact with a medication that’s on the NIOSH hazardous drug list, Labels will show a safety alert—not only when printing, but also while creating labels, editing labels, and during final check/approval. You can customize the alert text, so it matches your facility’s handling procedures.

You can also set different messages by NIOSH class (Class 1 vs Class 2), so your warnings can include the right level of instruction for each group.

Why it matters: Keeps hazardous drug handling guidance visible at the exact moment's mistakes happen—during setup, changes, and approval—not just at print time. That consistency supports safer practice and helps reinforce compliance.

Custom Alerts

Quick Guide Reference - Creating Custom Label & Template Alerts

You can add a custom pop-up alert to any drug label—not just NIOSH meds. These alerts can be configured to appear exactly where you want them in the workflow (for example: during label creation, label edits, printing, and/or final check/approval).

Common uses:

  • Shortage guidance (e.g., “Do not over-allocate”)
  • High-cost reminders
  • Look-alike / sound-alike precautions
  • Route/dilution/storage handling notes
  • Internal process steps specific to your pharmacy

Why it matters: Lets you standardize “how we do it here” instructions without retraining everyone. The guidance shows up right when the decision is being made.

Exports and Reports Can Be Emailed

When exporting from data grids or generating a report, you now have the option to receive the export by email instead of waiting for the export to finish on-screen.

Why it matters: Saves time and lets you move on to other tasks while Labels finishes the export in the background—then you get the file delivered when it’s ready.
