This page will guide you through the first steps of using your Stat Temp website, from logging in and adding monitors and sensors to setting up notifications and reports. Whether you're monitoring a single location or managing multiple facilities, these instructions will help you get the most out of your system. If you have any questions along the way, our support team is just a message away.
Website Setup
If you haven’t set up your Stat Temp web portal yet, don’t worry, getting started is quick and easy. Simply fill out the Web Portal Request Form or visit StatTemp.io and click "Request Website" to request your free, customizable Stat Temp portal.
Once your site is created, you’ll receive an email invitation with a link to access your new portal.
Device Setup
- Unbox your Stat Temp monitor and sensor(s).
- Place the sensor in its desired location.
- Plug the device into power with the supplied power cord.
- Turn the device on by sliding the power switch up.
- The monitor LED will flash blue, and the screen will display a QR code with the caption “Download App.” It is now ready to connect to your network.
Connect to WiFi
This section provides directions on how to connect the Stat Temp monitor to a wireless network.
- Download the app ESP BLE Prov on your mobile phone.
- iOS - ESP BLE Provisioning
- Android - ESP BLE Provisioning
- Open the ESP BLE Prov app on your phone.
- Click ‘Provision Device’.
- Grant permission to let the app use your camera if prompted.
- Scan the QR code on the monitor screen with your phone.
- Grant permission to let the app use Bluetooth is prompted.
- Click ‘Pair’ to connect to the monitor.
- A list of available networks will appear. Click on your network and enter the password.
- If you need to connect to a hidden network or one that's not showing up in the list, select "Join Other Network" to enter the network details manually.
- Click ‘Provision’.
- Once the steps have been completed, click ‘OK’.
- Once the device has been connected, it will restart and take its first reading.
Troubleshooting WiFi

App & Setup Errors
Issue | Symptom | Recommended Action |
---|---|---|
App Error - Device could not be scanned. Please try again. | QR code not recognized | Close and reopen the app. If still stuck, perform a pinhole reset. To perform a pinhole reset, insert a paperclip into the top pinhole on the right, push in and release. |
App Error - Failed to get device version information with error: Encryption is insufficient. | QR code cannot be scanned | When this error occurs, it means that the device you are using will no longer work to connect to Wi-Fi. The quickest way to get connected is to download the app to a different device. |
App Error - Security applied for communicating with device does not match configuration setting | QR code cannot be scanned | Delete and reinstall ESP BLE Prov app. If needed, restart the phone: • iOS: Vol up → Vol down → Hold power • Android: Hold power for 20 sec, or Volume up + Power |
Wi-Fi & Network Errors
Issue | Symptom | Recommended Action |

Network Connection Issue | No Wi-Fi bars or an exclamation mark next to the bars. | New setup: Check the network name and password. Reset Wi-Fi and reconnect. Existing setup: The Network may have changed. Reset Wi-Fi. Still offline? Contact IT or email stattemp@gohcl.com. |
Server Connection Issue | Wi-Fi bars are visible, but no cloud icon or an exclamation mark in the cloud. | The device is connected to the network but cannot access the cloud. This could mean the credentials were entered incorrectly or that there are restrictions on the network. Check the credentials; if incorrect, reset WiFi and try again. If credentails were correct, contact IT or email stattemp@gohcl.com. |
